Great-uncle, Richard Moss, served as Superintendent at Deptford Naval Stores. Went out to (serve at) the Naval Base Store at Simonstown (Simon's Town), South Africa.

He had a Great Dane dog called "Just Nuisance" - there is a statue of the dog there (Simonstown).

Richard and Ena married in UK, and went out to South Africa. When they returned home to the UK, their ship (convoy) was followed the whole way by U-boats (wolfpack).
