Making Sausages Go Further with Food Rationing

This is a story about my grandmother on my mother's side when all food was rationed. One day she was able to get some sausages at the butchers and to make them look more than they actually were, she cut them longitudinally and laid them on the plate when she served them up. They were living at 99 Kitchener Road, Strood, Kent at the time.
