Father, Marshall McDonald Spencer, was a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.

Served with No. 2 Special Boat Section, 15th Gunboat Flotilla, out of the Royal Naval base at Dartmouth.

Took part in nighttime operations crossing the English Channel to Northern France to ferry back and forth British-serving agents, French Resistance fighters, equipment, supplies and intelligence to and from enemy territory.

Nephew carried out research on father.

He was a student at Cambridge. Had a half-pint mug from Cambridge and a Napkin Ring (submitted). Parents met in Cambridge.

Remembers being aboard his ship (MGB) - funny story about a rat on the ship: "Dad always stuck to fun stories".

Involved in moving agents back and forth to France - since a lot of operations were at night, used star guiding. Believed to be doing a lot of undercover work.
