When you held the WWII memories session I told the collector of my experience when a German plane dropped a bomb on the Majestic Hotel. It did not explode, but the pilot , who survived the war, was welcomed back to Harrogate as a guest of honour. Our daughter, Jane, is in Harrogate at the moment and sent the photo of the bomb. I was about 5 yrs old at the time . To me, the main disruption was the interference with my game of marbles in the street. I remember the plane and the outline of the pilot in the cockpit. It was Harrogate's only brush with the war.
