Eric William Lovell (father, b. 1921) served in Italy. Did not talk about war service until holidaying after war in Italy, also mentioned he served in Egypt with the R.A.S.C.

One of 7 boys in the family, all served in all branches (see newspaper front page article).
Leslie Lovell (uncle) served in navy, and see release papers from 1945. Also received official citation for BEM (see London Gazette).
Charles Lovell (uncle) was awarded for bravery in distinguishing an aeroplane fire.
George Lovell (uncle) had been on SS Strathallan which was torpedoed in 1942.
