<p dir="ltr">The contributor, Secretary of Long Wittenham History Group, spoke about the recording of oral history interviews with local eyewitnesses conducted as part of a World War II project. Some interviews in particular captured wartime experiences in the local area, namely those of Marjorie Edwards, Mercy Ward, and Muriel Thorpe. This research includes reminiscences of evacuees, defensive structures, 8th Reconnaissance Unit at Barensfield. </p>
