<p dir="ltr">This brooch is from the early 1940s. It is made from lucite from the windscreens of crashed fighter planes. This material was repurposed into jewellery.<br>Reverse carved and back painted. Not actually embedded in the material.<br>Grandfather bought it for grandmother in the early 1940s.<br>The contributor inherited it from grandmother after her death.<br>They thought it was plastic at first.<br>Lucite is a polymethyl methacrylate, with good resistance to weathering and shock.</p>
