Lance Corporal Ernest Jones

<p dir="ltr">Ernest was one of the forgotten army as he was out in Burma. He was the colonel's radio operator in the jungle, and the Japanese would taunt, "You won't see England again, Johnny!" He was in the Royal Corps of Signals, Royal Welch Fusiliers, and was mentioned in despatches and awarded the Burma Star. He had a rough time in Burma. Sleeping outside, he woke one morning to find he was sleeping on an unexploded hand grenade. Ernest used to play football for Bangor.</p>
