Kentish disc brooch

Silver-gilt circular brooch (Leeds class Ia). Diam. 2.9cm. Circular cell and three radiating wedge-shaped cells set with flat garnets on chequered gold foil - chip carved Style I animals with helmet head, double barred short body and leg bent over back. Flat rim with two rows of niello-filled triangles. Rim very worn. At back normal attachment for missing pin, and simple catchplate.
