John and Evelyn Dodd's Journey Through WWII

John Robert Dodd (the contributor’s father) joined service at age of 15. He saw various service - destroyer, supporting Royal Yacht, shipping of gold reserves and paintings held in Windsor Collection. He was a gunner on HMS Kipling which was sunk on 11th May 1942 (losing 24 crew). He was also involved in ships carrying Jewish refugees.

He suffered from PTSD.

Evelyn Dodd ( the contributor’s mother) was a secretary.
