Joan Johnson's work as a wartime nurse

<p dir="ltr">Her grandmother wore during the war the Civil Defense Volunteer's Service badge and nurse's badge. She met her to-be-husband at a hospital during the war. She worked in Birmingham throughout the war. </p>
