Iron sword with organic remains of scabbard

Sword: broken into 7 pieces and in appalling condition, bubbly and brittle. Length approximately 85cm, but tip of blade and top of tang gone; some scabbard remains, wood with vertical grain and hair beneath, and impress of lower guard width 1.5cm.X-ray no. 23: A pattern welded blade, but too far gone in corrosion to see anything clearly.X-ray could not be located in 2006-7. – D.H.
