Sword: length 83.5cm (but tang broken and original length about 89.5cm), width of blade in scabbard 5.5cm. Tip of blade detached, and otherwise in poor condition: fragile and splitting down its length. Substantial scabbard remains much wood with vertical grain and some hairy impressions beneath. Clear impress of lower guard at top of blade.X-ray no. 11: blade pattern welded with at least 3 composite rods, probably in alternate pattern, but details not clear since blade too far gone.X-ray could not be located in 2006-7. – D.H.
