Sword in very bad condition, dropping to pieces and minus tip and part of hilt. Present length 68cm. Original length (minus tip of blade) 30 inches. Traces of wooden scabbard with fibre underneath and ?leather on top. Impression of perishable guard at top.X-ray no. 17. A pattern-welded blade with two composite rods in standard arrangement of twisted sections.X-ray could not be located 2006-7. – D.H.
