Fragmentary grip, length 9.8cm. Probably of long type originally. U-curved, peaked, sides to handle, with unusual feature that at least on one side the side extension has been riveted to the wooden bar of handle. Some wood remains of this bar, with longitudinal grain. Wood with cross grain on lozenge-shaped terminal with rivet which attached it to shield board. The break at outer edge of lozenge suggests there was a strap extension making grip of 'long' type.
