Shield boss, height 9.3cm, diam. 16.5cm. Carinated boss with very large stud diam. 4.5cm, above straight sided or concave dome, with very pronounced carination above short indented waist. Flange width over 2.5cm, damaged but originally pierced by 5 disc-head rivets diam. 3cm. Possible traces of repair to flange on one side. Slight wood remains on underside. N. Thames?
