Iron shield-boss: diam. 17.8cm, height 7.5cm. A broad, low, boss with convex dome and spike surmounted by a button (broken), marked carination at sides above an indented waist and a broad flange 2.5cm wide. Originally five iron rivets with bronze disc-heads diam. 2cm, around flange, but one now missing. Flange recently damaged. Slight traces of wood under flange.Sarre or Bifrons
