Identification made by SCH. Damaged large scramaseax, length 38cm, but tang broken and tip of blade missing. Blade back has long sloping point. Substantial remains of wooden scabbard preserved.This seax had the boat-shaped bronze pommel M 6532The Gatty Slip indicates that accession number M 6305 is an iron spearhead and comes from Kingston Down. A sword of unknown provenence also has been assigned the catalogue number M 6305 by SCH. National Museums Liverpool database also indicates M 6305 is a spearhead from Kingston Down. The Mayer accession number SCH assigned to this seax is probably incorrect. See the spearhead M 6305 with the Kingston Down dis-associated material. – D.H.
