Iron knife with organic remains of handle

Iron knife, length 15.5cm. Blade worn by honing, traces of wood on handle.Shown in the record photograph, the actual object in the National Museums Liverpool has both an attached label for M 6312 and the painted notation Kn.U.6. This association betwen M 6312 and Kn.U.6 is probably incorrect and the wrong label was attached to this object. A different knife, accessioned as M 6312, is located with the Kingston Down dis-associated material. – D.H.
