Iron buckle loop partly restored with plaster, iron tongue, and rectangular silver plate folded over loop, cut for tongue and edges of loop and secured by three rivets along bottom. Only two rivets survive, and these have sprung away from the front-plate.Mayer card merely attributes it to Sibertswold. The descriptions of buckles given by Faussett makes it clear that he made special descriptions of anything out of the ordinary, but that the simple buckle with rectangular plate, which was the norm, tended to be dismissed on the 'as before' formula. There is only one iron buckle with 'bronze' loop - silver when taken out of the grave can look like bronze - described from Sibertswold, and only one survives.
