My mother's aunt was one of half a dozen children but was the only one who had children. Her husband, H. A. Murray from Llanybydder, Carmarthenshire, fought in North Africa. The family received a telegram saying he had been taken as a POW by the Italians. He was transported to a POW camp in Italy. He was put on a prison ship to be taken back to Italy, but the next news they got was that the ship had been torpedoed by the British, so he was lost in 1945.
