Translucent blue glass bead on silver ring. Bead deep blue, rather plump, diam. 1.2cm, thickness 7.5mm. Slender silver ring, of thin wire, 0.5mm diam.; diam of ring 1.5cm, terminals knotted rather untidily and more loosely than usual.Mayer card says grave 8, but this must be wrong: no blue bead on ring from this grave. Not the second one from grave 6 nor that from grave 211. Cf. MS 723 folio 28 bead from grave 260 which is the same size as this one.The beads on a ring was described in the MS Diary as: '1 Earthen Bead, on a knotted Ring'. This bead may come from Grave 8. Faussett described two slip-knot rings and one bead in detail; the other ring may have had a bead, too, which Faussett may not have mentioned explicitely. – B.B.
