<p dir="ltr">* The contributor has typed up all info in the document they brought in that has been digitized. *</p><p>Silver British War Medal 1939-1945 28 days Plus Services - Ribbon was made by King George the 5th.</p><p>1939-1945 Star military Campaign Medal for 180 days plus Services.</p><p>The Star Medal Ribbon was orange due to the Dutch flag.</p><p>George had lied about his age as he was a few months too young to join the army and had to get married officially so that if anything were to happen, his wife would then inherit.</p><p>He joined a Pipe Band after he joined the war.</p><p>He was in Aruba in the Caribbean with the Pipe Band doing 2 years' service guarding allied oil to ensure.</p><p>Nothing happened to it but just 2 weeks after they left, it was attacked.</p><p>He took being in the army in his stride and nothing was ever too much for him.</p>
