Students will examine and discuss legal issues of special importance to women. Topics will include (among others) sexual discrimination, sexual harassment, domestic violence, reproductive autonomy, and pornography. The course seeks to present each topic in its social context by supplementing legal readings with materials drawn from the social sciences, literature, and film. Paper required. Enrollment limited to fifteen students. Enrollment Requirements: You must be a student in the School of Law to take this course. This information has been collected for the Post-Discipline Online Syllabus Database. The database explores the use of literature by schools of professional education in North America. It forms part of a larger project titled Post-Discipline: Literature, Professionalism, and the Crisis of the Humanities, led by Dr Merve Emre with the assistance of Dr Hayley G. Toth.
