The British Museum - Merlin Collections Database, Feb 2006, for No. 216: 'Wood bucket-stave + U-shaped rim & part of upper hoop attached by folded & riveted clip; impressions of 2 hoops below on stave. Height 10.20cm. Width 2.20cm (stave)'; for No. 217: 'Wood bucket-stave + vertical binding attached by 4 staples & with borders of repoussé dots; impressions of 4 hoops on staves. Width 3.10cm Height 9.30cm'In view of the uncertain provenance of the material with the British Museum accession nos. 1893,0601.211-242 (see Site Investigation) attributed to Sarre in the Database, it seems unlikely that these bucket remains were found in Grave 264 (see Cook 2004, Cat .no. 123). РB.B.
