Fragments of 3 square tablets of bone, each having had a round hole in each corner. Labelled M 6550: \comb fragments Sibertswold grave 54\" but this is incorrect.a) 2.2 x 2.3 cm; 4mm thick; holes 4-5mm diam. Has been cremated.b) 1.9cm square; max. 3mm thick; holes 4-5mm. diam. Burnt too.c) fragmentary much burnt and warped. Originally c. 2 x 2.2 cm.; 3.5mm thick; holes 4.5mm diam.Probably bone tablets - four hole - for tablet weaving."The catalogue number M 6550 is also used for a bone tablets from Crundale grave 5. The Gatty Slip and Mayer Index card for M 6550 both indicate Sibertswold grave 54. Index card says 6 fragments; at least three extant fragments may be the bone tablets which match the description for Crundale grave 5, leaving the other pieces associated with the bone comb in Sibertswold grave 54. – D.H.
