This copy of the New Testament belonged to Flying Officer Robert William Sampson 189836 of Aintree, Liverpool. It was issued to him during the Second World War. He survived the war and passed the copy on to his daughter, who in turn passed it on to her son. The testament was small and could fit into the pocket of battle dress. Flying Officer Sampson was stationed in Aden and worked in Military Intelligence.
