Family Reminiscences: WWII Service in the Navy and RAF

James Leslie Bibby was born in 1923 [?]. He was in the navy on HMS Convolvulus. One of his service numbers is P/JX516758. He was stationed in Cairo 1943-1945. Whilst there he got a number of tattoos, including one of an anchor, which had faded to a blue colour at the point the contributor knew him. The contributor is James Leslie Bibby's great granddaughter and she knew him until she was 14 as 'Grandad Bibs' and 'Our Bibs'. His medals include the 1939-1945 star.

Harold Berry Kevan was in the RAF and stationed in Palestine where he drove HGVs. He stayed in the army until at least 1947. Photographs are labelled 'Feb '47', 'Just Outside Jericho returning from Anmau [?]' and 'A Flight 4 Squadron'. The contributor is his great granddaughter and she knew him as 'Grandad Kev'.
