During lockdown I decided to write down memories to go with the family photos I had inherited. I called these 'Fragments'. These soon expanded into more focused research.

History

Item list and details

Three chapters from my "Fragments".

Two of the stories I subsequently wrote were about my father, Arthur Booth, who died in 1944 when I was four, and his younger brother Walter. Both served in the Second World War. Arthur did not live to tell his story, but Walter's notebook was loaned to me by his daughter.

Person who shared the story/items

Hilary McColl
