<p dir="ltr">The contributor's father, Brian Symes, was born on 11 November 1935. In 1940, he was evacuated to the village of Martin in Hampshire.</p><p>This story was shared during an in-person interview at a Digital Collection Day. A transcription of the interview is attached to this record.</p>
