In WW2 Edward Taylor was sent to France from 13th September 1939 to 4th march 1940. He was sent over to help in Germany. Then while he was on guard duty, he believed he had saw flares off in the distance, but it was really Germans firing shots. Then they came, he got shot in the leg while the rest sadly died and he was taken in as a prisoner of the war. He was taken by a fellow German, by train, luckily a lady caught them and said he had to go to the hospital, so was okay and thankfully survived the shooting. Later on he was asked if he wanted to go fight the Japanese but Edward replied with saying he was done and just wanted to read. He received 3 medals for his bravery.
