Grandfather Edward Cottrell DFC given, in charge of 14 Men of RAF, bomber Command during WWII. Completed Night Flights, saved the lives of men in planes when engines caught on fire, pushed the men out to save their lives. Landed on the sea. He joined on RAF club when son- in- law overheard Edward talking about what he did. He was part of many different groups making his way up the ranks. He did most missions with 101 Sgn. The logbook at Brize Norton may contain more information.
