Extract:

Reliquias vero sanctorum, de quibus praesentium lator nos admonuit, dari praecepimus.

'We have given instructions that the relics of saints, about which the bearer of the present [letters] asked, should be given.'

Martin continues by promising to also send books.

Letter from the letter collection of Pope Martin I (649-655). In this letter, Martin asks Amandus not to abdicate his episcopal seat. Amandus had apparently expressed a desire to do just this in the letter the messenger bore when he asked for the relics of ‘true saints’. However, Martin’s entreaty was not successful: Amandus left his post just a couple of years later.
