Samuel is writing to bishop John reminding him that he came to the monastery of Apa Hatre where he ordered a custom made garment for himself which he now wants to have sent.
‘I am Samuel writing to Apa Iohannes, the holy bishop and true bearer of Christ: You have come forth to the monastery (topos) of Apa Hatre. You told me: “(I stay) until we complete the garment for me. But now send [it].”
