E04139: Coptic ostracon from Hermonthis (Upper Egypt) with a letter asking for prayers and announcing the shipment of vegetables as a donation to Apa *Jeremias (S00773); datable to the 7th/8th century.
‘I worship at [the feet of?] your esteemed paternity. I am asking your fatherhood to make you remember me in your holy prayers. Behold, I have sent your paternity some vegetables and I am greeting the saint Apa Jeremias. I am entreating him to pray for me.’
