BKU 3 364 In this document, a man from Herakleopolis acknowledges his debt of two gold coins to a cleric of a church of John. The debt is to be paid back in kind after the following harvest. Lines 3–4 read as follows: ⲉⲓⲥϩⲉⲓ ⲛⲡⲁⲡⲁ [+ 5 ⲡ]ⲁⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲡⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ϫ[ⲉ '… I am writing to Apa […], the one of the church of saint John.' (Text and German trans.: H.
