E02357: Greek antichretic loan, from Alexandria, mentioning a martyrion of *John the Baptist (S00020), dated to the year 499/500.

P.Oxy. 63 4395<br><br>This loan document involves Flavius Julianus who had previously borrowed a much larger sum of money from someone else, see <a href="https://oxford.figshare.com/articles/_/13820366">E02356</a>. He states his residency as near the martyr shrine of John the Baptist, lines 2–4:<br><br>Φλ(άουϊος) Ἰουλιανὸς λ[αμπρότατος τριβοῦνος υἱὸς τοῦ τῆς]<br>μακαρίας μνήμ̣[ης Εὐσεβίου οἰκῶν] π̣λησ̣ί̣ο̣ν̣ τ̣[οῦ μαρτυρίου]<br>τοῦ ἁγίου Βαπτιστοῦ [ἐν τ]ο̣ῖς ἰδίοις<br><br>'Flavius Julianus, vir clarissimus, tribune, son of Eusebius of blessed memory, resident near the martyrium of St John the Baptist on his own premises, …' <br><br><br>(Text and trans.: J.
