Late Saxon bronze strap tag, length 4.6vm. Split end scalloped to accommodate 2 large disc-head rivets, edge at sides nicked. Decorated with semi-circular panel with geometric leaf decoration at top; main decoration animal interlaced with limbs and tail. This is shallow with carving, with remains of niello filling ground. Terminal animal has large round slitted eyes, snout with 1 gold inlay in scratched lines on snout. Back plain.
