Copper-alloy slip-knot ring

online resource
posted on 2021-10-26, 19:41 authored by Helena HamerowHelena Hamerow
Bronze bracelet, much battered and damaged, distorted, but original diam. about 9cm (1 1/4 inch). A heavy circular-section piece of bronze wire, tapered at ends and bent into circle with overlapped ends secured on each side by 3 tight twists. That it was adjustable can be seen from its present mobile state - it is snapped in two places, and part of main ring and part of one twist is missing.Faussett described it as much bent and bruised when found.Too big for the child with whom found, so probably an old out-worn thing when buried.
