Copper-alloy shield-on-tongue buckle

Bronze buckle, width 2.8cm. Oval loop with narrow round-sectioned hinge-bar, and body of loop markedly incurved from lower edge to inner, underside hollowed to match. Loop decorated with 6 groups of 3 deep transverse grooves. Tongue with small shield on back and strong cast hook on underside attaching to hinge-bar.Catalouge number M 7360 also used for another buckle from Ozingell.
