Copper-alloy hoop of wooden bucket

Bronze ring or rim of wooden stoup.In view of the uncertain provenance of the material with the British Museum accession nos. 1893,0601.211-242 (see Site Investigation) attributed to Sarre in The British Museum - Merlin Collections Database (accessed Feb 2006), it seems rather unlikely that these are the bucket remains preserved in the British Museum (1893,0601.216-217; see Cook 2004, 68, corpus number 123). – B.B.
