Rolled sheet bronze conical ferrule, length 2.8cm. Upper diam. 3mm. For all the world like a miniature spear ferrule, split sided, and with holes for a rivet at the top. Faussett thought it the ferrule for a bone pin, but the rivet somewhat against this. Ferrule of tiny wooden stick? Or very possibly a tag for a boot lace. No position mentioned. Cf. examples for Kingston grave 285 which Faussett illustrates as longer. The reference on the SCH Card to Kingston Grave 285 needs to read 'Grave 185' – B.B.
