Copper-alloy cruciform brooch

Bronze cruciform brooch, length 11.7cm. Small head-plate with backsloping wings and front decorated by pair [of] transverse grooves. Top knob cast in one with plates, side knobs attached separately by means of iron bar passing through pierced lug at back. Pin iron, broken, but fuzz of iron rust with textile impressions surviving covering a section of it. One side knob missing. Remaining two in form of very worn and corroded animal heads with large protruberant eyes. Bow with recessed long rectangular panels. Foot has mouldings below bow and remains of side lappets under bow - both broken but remains of eye and (?) jaw. At base of foot a large animal head with arched ears, boss eyes, straight ridge nose, diagonal nostrils, and flat lobe at base of nose, in lower plane. Catchplate missing.
