Worn Roman coin, the edges ground away in places to adjust the weight. Marked in a line down the bust with 6 triangular punch-marks. Iron stains at top of head.Roach Smith in Collectanea antiqua weighs 292 Ashmolean Museum weight 18,872.The scales and weights M 6926.1-15 and probably also M 6926.16 are stated to have been found by the side of a skeleton (Roach Smith 1854, 12-13). – B.B.
