Copper-alloy buckle and plate; organic remains

Bronze buckle-plate, length 2.3cm. Cast metal, in form shield-shaped with hollow back. Around edge ware 5 rivets with domed heads with shanks projecting into hollow area at back, and beyond back edge of plate by 2-2.25mm. Traces of ?leather inside, traces of an iron tongue. The plate has the shaped and bent front of the attachment for the pin-bar of loop, but the loop, which once existed, is now missing.
