Mayer card: Anglo-Saxon bronze bowl, very probably found in Kent at Strood. 10 1/2 inch diam. There is no bottom to it but as to size it exactly corresponds to the object engraved.The Gatty Slip puts a question mark to the reference to the figure on p. 160 in Roach Smith 1852. – B.B.
