Ceramic vessel with roulette decoration

online resource
posted on 2021-10-27, 15:31 authored by Helena HamerowHelena Hamerow
Fragments of a crude bottle-shaped pot with globular body - rather wide neck. Wheel-made in rough grey ware. Small bosses on shoulder - rouletted decoration on body. This rather curious pot appears to be hybrid form, locally made copy of Frankish import by someone who still had in mind 6th century hand-made pot tradition.
