Though we have been unable to identify relevant courses at Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the institution recently received a significant grant to create a medical humanities curriculum for undergraduate and medical students. For media coverage, see https://web.archive.org/web/20220530155250/https://medicine.illinois.edu/presidential-grant-to-build-medical-humanities-curriculum/news. Carle Illinois currently supports a Student Interest Group called AfterWards, through which students explore how the arts and the humanities play a role in medicine. This information has been collected for the Post-Discipline Online Syllabus Database. The database explores the use of literature by schools of professional education in North America. It forms part of a larger project titled Post-Discipline: Literature, Professionalism, and the Crisis of the Humanities, led by Dr Merve Emre with the assistance of Dr Hayley G. Toth. You can find more information about the project at https://postdiscipline.english.ox.ac.uk/. Data was collected and accurate in 2021/22.
