The collection of medals belonged to Frederick Charles Davies, who died on 24 June 1944 at the age of 20. Frederick is buried at the Ranville War Cemetery in Normandy, France. He was the brother of my father-in-law and was talked about, but not too much.

In the presentation case are Frederick's campaign medals, a feather from a Black Watch hat, a letter from the King, a picture of his grave, and a picture of Frederick. The family are very proud of these items, and they are kept on display.

Frederick was close to his brother, who was three years younger. He was sent to South Wales during the war.
