The contributor shared the story of Stephen Robert "Bob" Abbott, who was born 10 January 1913 and died 21 March 2010.

Bob Abbott was a member of the Buckshee Wheelers cycling club and participated in cycling and races in Cairo during his service. The contributor shared that the club was free to join for servicemen, and Bob obtained a Freddie Grubb bike that had previously been used for deliveries with which he competed in races - including on the tarmac roads around the Pyramids. Dunkirk on Isle of Man ferry to Southampton, train in Perth in Scotland [sic].

The contributor also mentioned Jim Houghton, whom he noted had captured 2 German army officers.
